It's been a while!

I haven't posted anything in more than a month...
But don't think I am being lazy!

I have been working hard on too many craft projects at the same time that i want to give as Christmas gifts, so they need to be finished a soon as possible.

I am also working on Christmas cards designs That I will only show here once they are all in the mail :)

So this time, I am going to leave you a few of my favorite things of the moment:

- Paule's knitting blog. Lots of cute stuff . And I can't believe how fast she is! Looks like she did 13 million hats in a month!

-D30 pointe shoes. I have not tried them yet, but I should receive the pair I ordered from discount dance next week and let me tell you: I am so excited! I really have high expectations for these shoes.

-Uliana Loparkina in this variation of Raymonda. What can I say... I LOVE IT!!!!! Everything about her is perfect.

-Ponyo. I think I saw it 2 months ago but I still think about it. Which is really rare with movies these days. And those who know me well know that I am not a fan of Asian animation. But this blew me away.

-New moon. Ok... I am not a twilight fan but I have read the books and saw the first movie and the trailer for the second one is quite exciting. :)

-Gordon Ramsay's F WORD season 4. I love this man. And his cooking. But you really need to watch the first 3 seasons also!

and lastly

-Lucy Knisley and her comics. I just discovered her this week and I fell in love. She is so funny!

No time....

Yet again, I struggle to find time to draw.

I am working on a very demanding project at work and I started ballet classes again. This is all I could manage in the last 3 weeks!

Encore une fois, j'ai de la dificulté a trouver du temps pour dessiner. Mon travail me demande beaucoup d'énergie et j'ai recommencer les classes de ballet. C'est tout ce que j'ai reussi a dessiner en 3 semaines!

This is Alicia Alonso. She was a ballerina born in 1920 made famous by revolutionizing the ''entrechat 4'' (the very fast crisscross step) in Giselle. She danced this role on stage until she was 73 years old! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!! This makes me feel so much better because sometimes I think i am getting a bit old for ballet.

Great weekend.

I spent last weekend far from the city near a lake. It was great! But the kids that were there needed entertainment.They wanted me to draw Cinderella. I quickly figured out I would not be able to draw the prince, so I asked my boyfriend to try. I think the result Is pretty funny :)

J'ai passer une superbe fin de semaine près d'un lac. Les petites cousines de Stéphane avait besoin d'etre amusées alors elle m'ont demander de dessiner Cendrillon. J'ai vite comprise que je ne serais pas capable de dessiner charmant le prince. Alors j'ai demander a mon amoureux de sauver la mise. Le résultat me fait bien rire. :)

Petit sketch rapide fait en une heure. Je voulais voir de quoi aurait l'air ce tableau si c'était moi qui l'avait peint. Je me suis rendue compte que meme si je l'interprétait a ma façcon, ca me faisait pratiquer des notions de dessin et de peinture plus en profnodeur, comme par exemple les racourcis et les jeux d'ombres et lumieres. Définitivement a refaire!

Quick one hour sketch. I wanted to see what this masterpiece would look if I had painted it. It was a lot of fun to do and I came to realize that even if I do it whatever way I want, I still get to practice some drawing and painting notions such as lighting and composition. Definetly an exercice I should do again soon!
